In March of 2015 I rented a small studio apartment in Hollywood. To solve the problem of not wanting my bed in the middle of my only room, I custom designed and built, with the help of my dear friend and extremely talented furniture designer Vasili, "The Deck Bed." 

​

The Deck Bed creates additional floorspace by encasing the bed and bedding inside of a box platform. When access to the bed is needed, hydraulic lifters help to raise (and lock) the platform to a 90° angle. 

​

The steps provide additional storage while simultaneously polishing off the "deck" aesthetic, also enhanced by the use of high grade astroturf in place of carpets.
