The Garden of Good Being

Being good starts with thinking good thoughts, more specifically referred to as positive affirmations. Positive affirmations are statements that affirm the good in ourselves and in our lives.

Thinking of an actual garden, each seed contains its destiny to become a rooted, flowering, fruiting splendor -- but to reach this potential requires the patience and care of the gardener.

We must remember this while attending to the gardens of our minds. As the saying goes, "If you plant crab apples, don't count on harvesting Golden Delicious."

Each blade of grass in this collage is individually cut from over 20 different images, arranged one by one over many hours. It serves as a metaphor for the patience and care required with our inner dialogue (self-talk), if we want to grow into the beautiful, flowering, fruiting, sun-reaching good-beings, the destiny contained within our souls.
